Welcome to Caprice Ladies Choir

After many years of conducting Gilbert & Sullivan shows and concerts, plus amateur musical theatre shows and choirs on the Costa Blanca in Spain, Aileen started her own all-ladies choir – Caprice – which specialises in a mixture of music with something to appeal to everyone. The choir has built up a repertoire of songs by Gershwin, including the beautiful 'Summertime' and the toe-tapping 'Fascinating Rhythm', combined with songs written by the Carpenters, such as 'Yesterday once more' and 'We've only just begun'. The repertoire is topped up by songs from the shows, including the ever popular 'I don't know how to love him', 'Love changes everything' and Aileen's own three part arrangement of 'Tell me it's not true' from Blood Brothers, plus some catchy madrigals, both traditional and modern. Added to that they sing more modern pop songs, some of which Aileen has arranged specially for the group.

Caprice meet for rehearsals each Wednesday evening in Calpe, accompanied by Kirsty Glen on piano. A monthly sub is payable at the start of each month. All ensemble songs are sung in three part harmony in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, with other songs sung as solos or duets to showcase the talent in the group. The choir aim to present two concerts each year many of which are in support of various local charities.
